research of the day...
Here are the two things I'm trying to research between bouts of DDR Mario Mix with C...

1. Yesterday at my gyn appointment, I talked about how I've had more obvious symptoms of my pcos since my LEEP last April. The dr said that I should talk things over with my gp as well because the metabolic / insulin resistant side of things needs to be handled delicately, and any hormonal type solutions are tricky given my Factor V. (I am SUCH an interesting patient!) He did use the M-word with me (Metformin) but suggested I continue my research and see my gp first. It had only occurred to me last week that the reason I was feeling best health-wise during and shortly after my pregnancy was probably that the hormones were putting the pcos in check. I tried using the 9-month diet plan a second time, but we all know that didn't work out! Anyway, information, helpful sites, etc. especially from my fellow pcosers would be appreciated. I'm working on it.

2. Originally we'd planned to have Grandpa build C. a tree house as his main birthday present this year, but C. is now strongly obsessing about castles and knights (King Arthur in particular - he makes me play doomed 2-player games of Shadows Over Camelot with him every day!). This morning I thought perhaps we could find/design plans for a tree house that had a slightly castle-like feel to it (crenelations?). I am looking for websites, pictures, any starting points for that at all.

You know, not to be hypercritical or anything, but, um, I'm not sure you had actually mentioned the PCOS to me. That would have been damned useful info to have at MY last transvaginal ultrasound, or for that matter GP checkup, because they've only ever ruled it out in me based on the aforementioned date with Mr. Plastic... not any bloodwork. Argh.

I know I did. But it's been a long while. I was in college when they found the first cysts, and I was told at that time that I had polycystic ovaries but not necessarily pcos; in Oct. 98 we were living at camp and M. drove me down to the hospital because he was convinced I had appendicitis - it turned out to be a very large and painful cyst. When I went to my first gyn once we moved here (a few months after that episode) he said based on history, symptoms, etc. he would diagnose me as pcos. I haven't had any recent bloodwork on it (not since I was pregnant) so we're not positive how my insulin is doing, but I have certainly noticed worse symptoms since the LEEP.

Um... can I swear now, or is your son reading over your shoulder? Wait:

"神聖的睾丸。・神圣的睾丸"

Mal, from "Trash" (and when I searched for this website, it told me that I could have Serenity now by ordering sleeping pills online)

Try that book I left you the last time I was there. :)

Well! Of course I didn't think about that because the book was WAY UP HIGH on the tippy top of an office shelf, to keep it safe. Hmph. But I did pull it down just now and found that it doesn't directly address PCOS or any related syndrome. Some of the symptoms are there, so I'll read more about those, but it doesn't have a section just for PCOS... :)
I do make juices for Cam (not all the time, but sometimes) and some combination of that, the Singulair, working harder to control the dust, and pure good luck has kept him inhaler-free all winter.
